I found this fantastic outdoor lamp at a thrift store but it needed a little something... It was really bare on the top and I wanted to give it a lamp shade of some sort. I also found a different and unique looking hanging flower basket - perfect! I have a lampshade for my new lamp. Here's what I did...
This lamp was made to be outdoors, has 3 light settings, and is beautiful, but I felt the light just needed a little something more. I found a hanging flower basket and knew just what to do...
I spray painted the hanging flower basket to match the lamp with Rustoleum spray. I also removed the hanging chain as I wasn't going to need it. I saved the chain though and have put it to use on another project.
After the paint dried completely (24 hours) I turned the hanging flower basket over and placed it on the light as a lamp shade.
I was very pleased with the way it turned out.
When my daughter saw it, she thought I bought it that way.
I love that I have an outdoor lamp to add not only light but ambiance outside.
