Painted House Before and After

I was going to paint the house last summer but I got busy and waited too long and the weather turned bad before I had a chance to start. I’m glad I got this big project finished this year. With the help of family and friends we painted most of the house in a weekend and then I finished up the smaller areas on my own over the course of a week.
Before. White house with green trim
The white paint is Marshmallow White and the grey is Mansard Stone. Both from Behr. We had to spray down the house and clean is with an outdoor cleaner that we attached directly to the hose. We used rags to wipe away any remaining dirt or spider webs. Let the house dry for 24 hours before you begin painting if you need to clean it first.
Fake Ivy and geraniums in the window boxes :) Behr exterior paint was great to work with. It went on well and dried fast. Most areas didn't need a second coat.
I also painted the porch steps and front porch area. I will have to rebuild the steps next year because they are rotting.
Close up of the flower boxes. Fake greenery from Joann Fabrics on clearance.

Wow! what a difference. It looks like a new home. Great choice of colors, they're so serene and inviting. Thanks for sharing. (I just love the before and after pictures.) Enjoy your 'new' home.
