Paint patio cover
Our patio cover was an old HOT brown. We painted it sky blue, my Uncles suggestion from the south. He said it keeps away wasps from building nests and it has a cooling feeling. (Great for us in the hot desert of Nevada) Also added a nice white fan in place of the ugly fans that it had.

Donna Marie Ledington on Jun 18, 2016In the south ceilings were often painted light blue to keep the 'haints' (ghosts) away. It is said that the haints won't cross over a porch with a blue ceiling because they think it's water. There is even a particular color called Haint Blue.. We are in the house building process and I already specified a blue porch ceiling on both porches. May as well keep up the tradition.
