Any plants that deter mosquitoes in a back garden?
Hi,
This spring we are seeing a lot more mosquitoes than usual in our back garden. Does anyone know if there are any natural deterrents ie. plants, to keep them away from our sitting area. If not, any other tips that work well? Thank you

Since you have gotten several plants answer to your question I am going a different route. Three years ago I purchased a Dyna-Trap insect control device. It is the best thing I have ever purchased probably. Mid-summer I noticed a great decrease in the amount of flying pests and by the middle of the second year they were all gone. I bought the 1 acre unit for my front yard and 1/2 acre for the back yard. It is absolutely worth the investment. I also make sure that I don't have any of the items around that attract them like standing water.
Marigolds. We plant tons of them every year since we have a bird bath and a pond in the yard and we live at the beach. Works like a charm.

Citronella and lemongrass.
I personally haven't had any luck with plants keeping mosquitos away. We use a Thermacell (Amazon affiliate link).
