Contact your local Extension Office. They should have a Horticulturist that can help you with your plant problems. http://oces.okstate.edu/leflore

Aphids live in the plants, not in the soil. Ants farm aphids on the plants for their "honey", a food for ants. So, where you find aphids you may find ants. Hose your plants off with a strong spray every few days until gone.

Aphids actually live under the leaves of plants. They may emerge from nearby places and then visit the plants. Organic aphid control methods include lady bugs which eat the aphids and sticky cards. Sticky cards are available from garden centers and look like big yellow post it notes on a stick. The "post it note" portion is a glue trap.
