  • Oh dear, it can happen. You must wash everything from top to bottom. Bummer. Plus side is your spring cleaning will get done at the same time.

I spray the perimeter of my property and base of my house once a month with vinegar, it does help. Just be careful if going them chemical route, as it can make your pets sick, then you have vet bills too. If you really need help, try Fleabusters. I used them in a vacant house.

We have 5 dogs, so you can imagine the flea nightmare, well not anymore. We started using Earthbound, it's a powder for spiders, bed bugs ect, I suggest getting the food grade kind so it's not poisonous. We put it all over our floors, left it for a few hours (directions say over night, but we couldn't stand the powder any longer),make sure you get the baseboards really good and under furniture, vacuum it all up, I even powdered the dogs and also do your yard, don't worry it's great for living growing things, it's really good for them and us humans, as tree huggers live off it.

After a couple days, no fleas at all. We also put frontline on the dogs 2 or 3 times a year. We haven't had a flea since, we earthbound once a year in the spring but only along the baseboards and we use a ketchup squeezey bottle you can buy at dollar general,to lightly dust with, just give it a little squeeze while tilting the bottle so it poofs the powder out, I also reuse an old shaky parmesan cheese container to do the outside with, because it has holes for easy applying, but you can use whatever you can come up with.

I bought my 18lb bag of earthbound on ebay for 18.00, this stuff is really expensive and ebay was the cheapest place I could find, 100.00 for 1lb was to much for me, and it's been 3 years and I still have an almost full bag.

Did I mention its good for us too, healthier hair, teeth, bones, skin ect, I put it in the dogs water and my coffee, and it works.

Best and last stuff you'll ever buy for fleas!

Vet told me to sprinkle borax on the rugs and leave for 3 hours, then vacuum up. Safe for pets and you. I have a glass jar, that I poked holes in the lid to shake it all over. I use 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax. When I first got my cats they were infested. So I have sprinkled it on the furniture and even my bed til I got rid of them.

I also put down towels in a few places my cat likes to lay. Shake them out daily or every couple days, I launder them weekly with borax in the wash.

Then I also have brought passive flea traps, I have one in each room. They are basically a green colored light with a sticky pad underneath to have the creepers stick to. No chemicals. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_5_9?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=flea+traps-+best+seller+with+light&sprefix=flea+trap%2Caps%2C209&crid=2B1GIHLM3X6SY I have also heard you can use a nightlight over a bowl of water with a drop of dawn in it.

I also shampoo my carpet frequently. Don't forget to do the perimeter of the room and under furniture when vacuum or shampoo. I also switched to a vacuum with a hard dust catcher to take outside immediately.

Is earthbound simply diatomaceous earth? yes do buy the food grade. I have some in a glass jar with holes poked on lid, and if they are bad, I sprinkle some on my long-haired cat and brush it into her hair. Unfortunately she's allergic to Frontline, Advantage, and Sentry flea drops.
