I think it is an ALIEN, lol. I wouldn't get too close to it. lol
Stinkhorn! Must be dug up when it's just in round pod stage- spreads easily and smellsto high heaven! Will shrink and die after a few days though...

We had them pop up all over our backyard a year or so after we had trees cut. They stink AWFULLY and we dug them up. I want to say they came back for a couple years.
