Does anyone have a "Home Remedy" for tiny dust mites?

Periodically I find networks of Very Fine cob-webs around my baseboards, bottoms of doors, & between staircase spokes. I've looked for spiders, even put out sticky-pads from an Exterminator to catch them, but Narry-a-one appears. I've heard of Dust Mites, very Very tiny little bugs hardly visible but ever-present who leave Fine Tiny cob-web like "Calling Cards"...I'm told they feed on the minute flakes of skin we shed in our homes. Any Suggestions on how to eradicate them?

Can't see dust mites very well they are usually contained to bedding, couches cloth where the skin cells are trapped they don't make webs.Sounds like spider mites or baby spiders to me just keep disturbing webs,vacuuming them up and use peppermint essential oil you can put it on cotton balls or pieces of cloth and put them in areas around where you see them or mix with water and spray areas, it is strong so it may affect the finish on furniture or wood some cloth. Every house has something. You are not alone. Regular cleaning will keep everything in control. Lynn provided excellent suggestions. I am constantly cleaning tiny webs in one kitchen corner by the ceiling. They get in my the sliding door in the kitchen which is the only access to my back yard.
Diatomaceous Earth sprinkled around should help to rid your home of a multitude of pests. Available at big box home improvement stores.
We use this spray in conjunction with our swiffer and it helps to keep spiders and other buggies at a minimum. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
