Are there any plants I can plant to safely prevent fleas in the yard? I live in zone 5.

Are the white stars some type of flea killer?

No Marion, we made a cardboard star stencil and misted the grass with water, then sprinkled flour on it to make stars for Independence Day. This just happened to be a more recent photo of my yard I added since I was asking about lawn care.

@Marion Nesbitt Yes, they love my dogs, cat and me. We have successfully treated the animals and hopefully can do the same with the yard and house.

I don't know about a perennial for where you are, but you might try planting painted daisies (Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium or Chrysanthemum coccineum) as annuals. They are the source of pyrethrum, one of the best-known botanical controls for fleas.

Marigolds are also good for keeping bugs away.
