The snails eat my strawberries. I pick them off, I put out sauces of salt, I use insect dust. They are still here.
Do you have a sense of where they are hanging out? Weatherproof string in those areas can help. Also, make sure that you don't leave pet food hanging around. If it's really bad, do you have fruit trees? You may consider getting rid of them.
Sloped sheathing in roosting areas can also help, though that's definitely a project!
You can keep them away with spikes. Pigeon spikes—attached with adhesives or clamps—are ideal for ledges, gutters, rafters, and beams. Done right, they will keep birds away. Done poorly, they will provide a protected nesting area for pigeons. They are long lasting, but require some maintenance as debris and twigs can provide birds with protection from the spikes.
