You could try laying cardboard in an overlapping pattern on the weedy area and covering it with mulch depending on how large an area you're working on.

My lawn is about 90% weeds. Mostly clover and some vine thing. I had a service last year and it's worse now

  • Have you tried straight vinegar or agricultural vinegar yet?

A friend of mine burns his fields in sections, long story short, it will make that area even more fertile.

I would smother with cardboard or newspaper then put mulch or rocks on top. If you want a plant, cut a hole large enough for the plant to breathe.

If you want nothing to grow back, try borax or boric acid. I'm not sure of a ormula to mix with something else but the garden dept of your local store should have this info.
