How can I keep the starlings and black birds out of my bird feeders?

They eat all my suets and seeds. Nasty things! I only use Kaytee Bird Foods and don't want to use it on them.

I've read that putting a squirrel baffle above the suet feeder discourages large, bully birds. There are two feeders that are highly recommended as well; ones with the seed in the middle of a wire mesh cage that smaller birds can fly into and feed. It also discourages squirrels. The other is a feeder that has a weight lever that closes the access to seeds if the bird is large. Smaller birds won't trigger it. I don't know where you live, but our local Ocean State Job Lot sells the one with the weight lever for $29.00.
