Spray the weeds down with white vinegar mixed with water 50/50 and a dab of salt and dish soap.

I use rock salt dissolved in water in a garden sprayer. Spray the weeds soaking them well. This will kill everything.

Doesn't work in NM, the state flower should be weeds. I tried that for months a couple of years ago.

    • I use creeping thyme as it looks and smells pretty, takes a beating from my dogs. Some varities of sedum may work too.

Thanks for the info, I did spray over and over at least weekly for months and it didn't work. Truly NM weeds are horrendous, I have sprayed them directly with weed killer 3 times since February, and 3 weeks ago spread Scotts weed and feed, still have weeds. Don't get me wrong I have them under control because I maintain my yard but since no one else does and we get the dust storms regularly it is a loosing battle.

I just read the other day about using baking soda to kill the weeds. You can't get it on the plants themselves, but good for driveway weeds and in between plants. I went out yesterday and bought a whole bunch of baking soda and am going to try it. Very inexpensive.
