What kind of new growth? If it sprouts suckers, you just pinch them off. "Preventing" will kill the tree . . .Helpful Reply- See 1 previous

Try Boiling hot water and Vinegar mixed together. Large amount..1/2.Bucket water and 1/2 bucket Vinegar....Boil Together. Half and Half mixture for use on weeds or things that grow.Helpful Reply -
