How can I remove a tree stump from the ground?

It's in a raised flower bed with a fence behind it so movement with an axe is restricted. Thank you

If you can drill holes in it, do as many as you can, fill them with epsom salts and it will rot the trunk fast, then it will come right out. It really does speed up the process.

We have used several sizes, but the best ones were half to 3/4 inch diameter I think. Use whatever you have and do as many as you can.

I like this answer too! I have several Chinese Tallow stumps (they are a very invasive giant weed!) that were damaged by Irma. I had read online about how hard they are to kill and the best answer I could find was to drill holes in them and fill the holes with Roundup. I was about to do that but there has been a lot of bad press about Roundup lately and Epsom Salt is a lot cheaper! Thanks for the tip!!

Will the epsom salt injure surrounding grass and plants?

You can kill it by drilling holes in it and filling the holes with salt. This will dry it out and soon you'll be rid of the stump

A chain saw if possible and grind the stump.

You can use stump rot or tea bags and Coke if you are not in a hurry - otherwise incorporate it into the garden with a planter or staging for a bird bath or garden ornament.
