How can I stop squirrels from blasting up and down my new screens?
We are having new floor to ceiling screens put in, on our sunroom windows. Squirrels love to blast up and down these screens as a shortcut to the trees - and to screw with our cat! What’s a creative way to deter them that doesn’t involve a spray (cat)? Is there something I could hang on each screen? Any ideas are appreciated!

If you can place a plastic owl in the area, it will keep them away.
Hello. What a frustrating situation. You may want to consider plants or disagreeable scents that it would be deterrent to these invaders. It might be worth hiring a teenager and a super soaker and applying some subject directed water powered deterrent.
This is bit of a unique suggestion and does not use sprays. Could you run a web of fishing line all over the outside of your screens, that wold create a barrier. Worth a shot? It would create a web and hopefully deter them from their "run".
Hi Becky, here are few ideas for you to try out,

Mix a spray bottle 1/2 Pine Sol with 1/2 water. From the inside of the porch, spray this through the screen. It will have a strong odor for a few days, but the odor will fade. The pine oil in Pine Sol helps it to last even through rainy weather, etc. for 2-3 weeks. Spray this also around the outside perimeter of your porch, too.

Mix together water, chopped onions, jalapeno and cayenne pepper. Pour the concoction into a spray bottle, and spray on your screened porch to deter squirrels. If you just spray on the screen, it shouldn't bother your cat.
They don’t like moth balls you could also use a natural thing like mint plants or Lemon balm plants under the screens to keep them away .
I doubt if squirrels would be afraid of a plastic owl enough to keep them off the screens.
I would also check the Dollar Tree toy section for some plastic snakes and see if they deter them. Those plastic owls also come with robotic action and the eyes light up which might put the fear of God into them. https://www.amazon.com/Redeo-Scarecrow-Squirrels-Repeller-Detector/dp/B092LPHMVS/ref=sr_1_14?crid=KG46H708UVTY&dchild=1&keywords=owl+deterrent+motion+sensor&qid=1631250847&sprefix=owl+deterrant%2Caps%2C250&sr=8-14
