I asked in our city garden section on facebook for help and found a teen that worked very hard and did more than she was asked. I gave her a bonus each time she came. Some newspapers have "Under $50" free advertising sections. Get some referrals also. Mine came with high recommendations. Teens are learning so be patient and specific what you need. The ones I met tried very hard to do what I needed and what I explained. Hope this helps. I am not able to work in my garden much either.

Yes, contact Student Employment Centres and post an ad might be another option. Usually colleges all have some sort of 'on line bulletin board' or community contact for these types of opportunities.

You may also want to consider having less flowers planted so low to the ground, or going for 'quality not quantity' and planting only a select few in easier to reach large pots.

  • Nextdoor.com is where I find great help. Found a trusty handy man and several high school and college kids to come help when needed. All have been excellent. I pay them well and feed them too. And I get stuff done!

Good tip about giving your workers something to eat. It makes for a more friendly atmosphere (food can be a great icebreaker) and I'm sure it much appreciated especially by those who are hungry or cash strapped.
