The best thing that we found for indoors were those gross looking fly strips that hang. Another else seemed to work so we put them up only when we need them. I'm sure they would work outside as well.
You didn't say where the flies were. If you want to keep them out of your house, do this. Fill a quart size clear Ziploc bag half full of water. Secure it to middle of the outside framing of the entry door to the house. It may not look great, but it really keeps flies out of your house. Other than fumigating outside or using a bug zapper, not sure about the yard.

Depending where you live they are just a part of life in the spring. Make sure you dont have any standing water around the area , use screen rooms and check the condition of the screens in your windows

Outdoors you don’t want to threaten any pollinators.
Indoors you might consider something like the sticky unpleasant looking for fly tape, sometimes in situation such as moving into a new residence insects get in and need to be trapped fir contained elimination.

Remove all food. Use a fly spray and vacate the room for half an hour.
