First, be sure to remove the cause if you know what it is; then pour a little bleach down all your drains.

Use alcohol in a spray bottle to spray garbage cans, even the flies themselves, dark corners where they can hide. Keep counter surfaces much cleaner, spray, wipe with napkin or paper towel. Works for me!

a shot glass with cider vinegar and a drop or two of dish soap. Leave it on your sink of wherever they are and they will disappear..

You don't have to cover the glass with plastic wrap they will fly into the glass and get stuck in the dish soap...used this method for years.

Hello. I have the same issue in summer. What I do is put apple cider vinegar into little bowls. I then add a little dish soap and then a little water, just enough so the soap starts to bubble. They are attracted to the apple cider vinegar but get trapped in the soap.

If you have quite a few, put up a fly strip, they may be ugly, but they do help knock them down a little quicker. Put some boiling water down your sink, they love the moisture that it always in the elbow. Wash all produce that is washable when it comes into the house. Even if your garbage can is covered, they will get in there and breed, so try to empty it really frequently until they are gone. I went to putting in one of the plastic grocery bags to limit the amount of garbage in the kitchen and it helps. Check things like produce you don't keep in the fridge (potatoes, squash) to make sure there isn't one that has a soft spot that they are using as a breeding ground. Keep the disposal empty, it is also a good breeding ground, make sure you include this when you put boiling water down the drains. Hope this helps!

Fill a microwave-safe bowl with apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish soap. Microwave the bowl so the mixture becomes even more aromatic. Leave the bowl out uncovered as fruit fly bait. The soap will reduce the surface tension, causing any fruit fly that lands on the surface to drown. Now, if what you have might be drain flies...if that is what you have try this: Boil some water on the stove and pour down your drain several times a day for about a week or Mix 1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar and then pour the mixture down the drain, leaving it overnight. In the morning, pour boiling hot water down the drain.

If a drain fly infestation lasts longer than 20 days despite different approaches to get rid of them, then it’s time to call a professional exterminator.

use apple cider vinegar with a squirt of dish detergent. Cut a soda bottle in half. Pour solution in the bottom. Remove cap and invert the top of the bottle into the bottom. You can cover with contact paper to make more attractive. The vinegar attracts them. The detergent makes them stuck. They can’t fly back out the tiny bottle neck.
