Wow I have two cats also and would never never use Raid inside ...it has a residual effect that could get on the cats paws and they clean themselves...no...we have ants coming in every Spring and you need to follow their trail back to where they come into the house, usually from under a baseboard...that is the only area you need to spray to eliminate them at the source...I give a few small sprays of Furnitue polish, yes thats right...they are gone in one day...have not had a problem since and the hardwood floor shines there...no poison on my cats feet either...

I read earlier this week to put out a small dish of corn meal. Evidently, they eat this and take it back to their nest. I believe the corn meal expands and their bodies cannot accommodate that.

Can I ask how you made the Borax solution? That has worked for me in 3 different houses and am curious as to why it didn't for you.
