If you want completely au naturel, then pulling them by hand. If you want something environmentally safe, then agricultural vinegar or salt. If you don't mind something chemical, then Roundup.

You can use any commercial weed killer - some even come in a spray container.

Or you can use hot water, vinegar or any number of DIY products found in the internet.

Please, do NOT use any salt. It eventually can work into the water table. You say But I only use a wee bit - if every one thought that - it's be heck of a lot of salt!

Make this spray....3 cups of plain white vinegar, one cup of table salt, 2-3 drops of liquid dishwashing soap. Heat the vinegar in the microwave...add the salt and stir until the salt dissolves. (Heating the vinegar helps the salt dissolve). Then, add the dish soap. Mix again. Then, pour into a spray bottle or garden pump sprayer and spray all of the weeds during the heat of the day. Make sure weeds are dry before you spray them for best results. After 2 days, they will begin to dry up and die. Be careful not to spray plants or grass...This spray will kill them as well.

  • NO ROUNDUP!!! Wet driveway, especially the cracks...take salt and pour along cracks, being careful not to get salt on lawn edge. Salt will sterilize the dirt so nothing can grow!

Lots of options depending upon whether you want to be eco-conscious... fast, or easy. I'm assuming replacement is not an option.

    a) roundup

    b) vinegar mixed in water

    c) boiling hot water (lots of it)

    d) gardening weed torch (uses propane).

    d) soak and steam (get sogging wet, cover with tarp in bright sun for a week).

I'm trying the weed torch first myself.
