I have a pet who is in our back yard everyday, and I don't want to put dangerous chemicals down to kill weeds/grass.

Treat the yard in sections using plastic fencing to close off an area. Concentrate on making the grass stronger rather than just getting rid of the weeds. There are natural fertilizers that will increase the health of the grass in the blocked off area. Close off for at least two weeks, then go to the next section. Water well in the blocked areas. In a couple of months you'll have a great yard for you and pet to enjoy.

Thank you all. This is good information. Ann, I will try your vinegar solution in the side of house section. Bijous, I'm intrigued about the fertilizer ! I will try that in the main part where the dog plays. Thanks again everyone !
