Not for squirrels, our problem was bats in the tiny space between the roof top and the metal roofing on top of that. Haven't been back since we plugged this in. It will work for squirrels too.
You have to plug the holes when they are out. My husband did, but then they reworked our siding, and we hear the pitter patter of little again.
