Do I Need a anti-weed pad for a cinder-block garden ? Do I put a anti-weed pad down to keep weeds out or do I remove the grass then put the pad down?

I would remove grass at the perimeter, ensure the base is level, and put down some landscape fabric. I would ensure the grass doesn't touch the outside of the blocks so it is easier to mow. Fill the blocks up to near the top, add more fabric, and then maybe a crushed rock to complete the filler. An alternative is to buy flat concrete blocks to top off the cinderblock holes and make a flat surface where weed seed won't get into the holes. It will also be more comfortable when you are working in the garden. The flat blocks can be attached with a concrete adhesive so they don't slide.

Hi Bonnie, I agree with Ken about removing the grass. Sounds like he knows what he is talking about.

I would remove all the grass first and then spray a weed killer on it before applying the weed block and then sand under the cinder-block.
