I had the same problem! I threw some mothballs around the area, cats don't like the smell. Leave them there for about a month. The cats never came back!
Place citrus peels which are safer for the environment as well as citus oil sprays. Place plastic forks prong side up and wooden skewers.
Sprinkle cayenne pepper or red pepper.
Large cat hating dog has solved all of my problem with cats coming onto my property.
