Bleach is best. However--speaking from experience with the Bathroom Remodel From H*** in my house--you'll need to fix the source before you can fix the mold. In my case it was a leaking shower pipe behind the wall and a shower pan that was improperly installed by someone who should have known better. Good luck; I feel your pain!
Use white vinegar to kill the mold
Be sure to find out what is causing the mold and get rid of it - or it will come back.

Will it remove the "smudge" on the ceiling without a big black spot? The mold is where the AC was running but te vent was closed.
