I want a home remedy that’s all natural that will drive those little buggers away that’s all natural and safe and not aggravating on my pet female cat.

Avon Skin So Soft is what I used to bathe my cats in to kill fleas if they had them when I got them as a kitten. My cats never went outside. Ever. The best flea preventive there is. The cat I have now is 9 yrs. old and she will go to an open door and st down at the door sill and look out as if there was a screen/glass door there. I can think of anything that will kill fleas and be safe for kitties except for what I said. Sorry.😺💖

Hello, I do know that dawn ultra dish soap kills them but I know cats are not fond of baths.

JL Hi,. Try baking soda dry, put it on the coat to smother the fleas. I would also have your cat dipped. Fleas get all over the place, and their hard to get rid of. Aloha!

  • Treating your cat is one thing, but unless you get rid of them in the house it's pointless. You need to clean the house from top to bottom to get rid of the fleas and the eggs they lay. And wash everything!!!

Dawn dish soap works well if you can bathe your kitty. If not, take to the vet or a reputable service.

You can use a flea comb to remove fleas, but that's a very temporary fix. I would be very careful of topicals since cats will lick them off, and some are more harmful than the actual flea treatments. I've worked with cat rescues for years, we've never found a 'natural' solution that actually kept fleas away, so we use the monthly treatments.

Well Thank you for all of your advice, I greatly appreciate it. I may have caught it early enough and I did use a topical treatment called revolution in a pinch. I was also given the advice to use mothballs on the carpeting then sweep really well. I have a mag light shining on everything that’s very bright and I don’t see any jumping around. I would love to try some of your suggestions but unfortunately my cat will not let me bathe her and she loves the outside so I can’t just lock her in the house all day, so I’m gonna go with this topical treatment that seems to not have affected her or had a negative impact. Thanks again everyone
