I need snake repellent to keep snakes out of my house!
Living in a rural area, you learn to deal with wildlife. I have had to deal with owls roosting in rafters when house was under construction ( those things are nasty)... See more
Dish Soap. Put a very thin line of dish soap around baseboards, windows, doors and wherever else the ants tend to gather. You can also try pouring dish soap directly onto ant hills or mix the soap with some water in a spray bottle.
i found liquid ant killer at Home Depot. Works amazingly well. Follow directions & you’ll be good.
The best way is to get rid of the colony and it is easy, believe it or not. We tried everything from poisons to bait and nothing worked. Then an old timer told us about cornmeal. Cornmeal kills them. The best part is they take it back to the nest and it kills the colony including the queen. We use Jiffy cornmeal as it is sweet. Put it where you see a trail of them or on their mound if you can find it. Jiffy is inexpensive, and won't harm children, pets, or the environment. Best of all it works!
Make your own bait! It gets carried back to the nest and kills the queen. Soak a cotton ball in the following solution and place in the middle of the "line" near wear they come in.
Ant Bait
1 1/2 Cups warm water
1 1/2 TBSP Borax
mix well
add 1/2 Cup sugar
mix well
Store in airtight container
You need to keep this out of the reach of children & pets as it is toxic. If you need, you can put the cotton ball in a small plastic container with a few ant sized holes drilled in the bottom sides.
Once ants are gone, wash the trail with vinegar to keep another group from coming in.

did you do a treatment along the foundation outside?
I lightly spray my counters with either William Sanoma counter spray or Spray 9 before I go to bed when the ants are active Totally eliminates the problem. It remains effective even after its dry.
I spray the outside of my foundation twice a year in spring and fall with a Carpenter Ant & Termite spray up to the wood siding, and around the door thresholds, and vents. Wear gloves, goggles and mask.
Then for inside I use either Victor's or EcoSmart non-toxic Ant & Roach spray again around the door, and if they manage to get on the counter .... I spray them, kills them dead, and then wipe the excess residue on the edges of the counter and the cabinets. Victors is mint, EcoSmart is Rosemary.
