i would say get a cat...a farm kitten. Those are the ones who have been taught by moma to hunt, and know how to eat a mouse.or cricket.... mice can be very flexible and get thru very tiny holes. Inspect walls for holes. Even those less than half an inch, plug them with steel wool. Mice don’t like the tase of it, and won’t chew it to pieces.

You almost need to lie down and see all the holes where they can enter. The holes might not be at ground level since most mice can climb a wall with texture, even wood grain or stucco. Mice can enter a hole the size of a dime. Some holes aren't visible because the mice pry up apiece of something, squeeze through and it snaps shut behind them ,like a door. They can lift shingles and tarpaper, loose metal mesh, etc. A cat will be able to sniff out these entrances better than we could ever find them with our eyes. Even the presence of a cat will keep mice out.
