Would you consider building a fence (chicken wire) around your plants? Or covering them? Or using raised garden beds? You can also sprinkle some soap around the plants, as long as it doesn't affect them. Good luck!!
It's definitely take some experimenting to figure out the best method but it's worth it in the end! There are flowers you can plant on the edge of your garden that certain animals find repulsive. Or you can purposefully plant something at the outskirts of the garden for pesty animals to ruin in order to save the actual garden.
I'm curious to know what ends up working for you!
Thank you both, will let you know how it goes.
Have you thought of raised container gardening? Raised for the bunnies and pups and raised higher or hung for the squirrels? I hope that helps!!
Human hair....you can get it from your hair dresser or barber. Spread around your entire garden, it doesn't need to be piles...just enough to make a bondary. Also planting marigolds around your garden will keep rabbits out. Plant close enough so there are no "openings" for them to get into your garden.
Thank you so much
Moth Balls. But you have to watch when they melt and put more. Grma
Well I have 6 dogs in my yard and luckily all old enough to know better. I get birds, squirrels, lots of lizzards, possums, raccoons - cute little guys but darn hungry, and whatever creatures of the night that crawl around out there. I just overplant and share with the wildlife. Not that I haven't become vexed and went out in the middle of the night and had a talk with the local raccoon family. I plant marigolds and parsley to keep things in check.
the rabbits ate my marigolds. the neighbors dog ransacked the tomatoes. i put that garden at house no2 under pvc pipe half hoops with a bottom frame and covered it with an opaque plastic- leaving a few vents on the top side. lite enough to raise up and pick veg from under it. very hard for the dog get a hold of. the dog ad tried to jump over a chicken wire barrier a week earlier.
I'm sorry your garden was ransacked by animals.
