How do you keep deer away from eating tomato plants?

The deer are eating my tomatoes when they become ripe. I need some ideas of how I can keep them away.

    Try using shaved pieces of Irish Spring soap.

    go to your and grab all the hair clippings spread them around

    i put solar light strings throughout that has seemed to help

    Could also be squirrels, coons or woodchucks, any number of wildlife. Woodchucks really like them . I just plant more than I need or you can fence in the tomatoes. If it is dry where you are, animals are eating them for moisture.

    It sounds absolutely absurd, but I've used human hair clippings on plants to deter deer. I've also used Irish Spring soap shavings. They do not particularly like human scent. Most beauty shops will gladly give you clippings.

    Make a fence of monofilament fishing line at various heights around plants. They can't see it, so when their nose touches it. They get scared away.
