How do you keep deer from eating you out of yard & garden?

Tried everything I know and have heard about...the deer around us seem to help themselves to everything...even stuff not on their dietary list. Besides moving, is there any sure solution?

Tried that. Even bought some fox urine (Yes, it can be bought; don't know who collects this, but I don't think I want to know!) Didn't help. They devoured my hostas. Thank you for the suggestion. I appreciate you taking time to reply.

I've had the same problem. Currently I am using a product called Deer Out that I bought in concentrate form on Amazon. Isn't cheap but it mixes up with water about 9 to 1. Smells minty and you only need to reapply to protect new growth. For the first time I am going to have peppers in my garden. Deer haven't touched them and they would normally keep 'em trimmed back. Once you get the deer trained that there is nothing good to eat in your yard you will be able to, in my experience, cut back on the spray. Be sure to let us know the result if you try it.

You're welcome! I don't think you'll be disappointed. I buy the concentrate to mix my own. It lasts longer.

Have you tried fishing line? Put posts around your garden/flower bed and string fishing line from them like a fence. You can make the posts decorative and you can't see the fishing line. A deer will walk into it and not go passed it. Deer will not jump what it can't see. Just make sure it's out far enough that the deer can't reach right over.

Tried that, too. Tried different brands/scents...didn't help. Thank you though for the suggestion & for your reply.

Lay out chicken wire, they hate to step on it. You can also spray paint it to make it blend in.

At a garden supply store, get yourself some powdered Blood Meal. Fill old pieces of nylon knee highs and use twist ties to make little pouches. You may want to use Popsicle sticks to anchor them near your foliage. The Blood Meal smells like DEATH and they will avoid it.
