How do you keep squirrels from eating your tomatoes?

For the last 2 years I have grown tomatoes in pots, and did not have much luck. This year I used Earthboxes and have a bumper crop. But when the tomatoes get ripe they start having holes in them. I'm not sure if it is squirrels or some disease. Would any of you gardeners know?

I wrapped my garden in hardware cloth to keep out the pests. Although, the lizards crept through and still ate my tomatoes!
