Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
Salt, or boiling salt water may do the trick.
Buy a pressure washer and blast them away or a weed wacker and chop them away.
Use white vinegar, dish soap and water. Spray it on the weeds.
pour vinegar on them
Daughter says it is great!
1/4 cup of salt, 1 squirt of Dawn dish detergent, fill the rest of your spray bottle with vinegar. Daughter says it works great. Sorry about the previously messed up comment
I use vinegar
Spray with vinegar.
Vinegar and soda
I had the very same problem. Go to the grocery store and buy a bottle of Pickling Vinegar - it is stronger than regular vinegar then buy a cheap plant mister from any dollar store and fill with the Pickling Vinegar. There's NO need for salt or Dawn. The vinegar on its own does the job. However, make sure you spray the weeds on a hot sunny day. The combination of the hot sun plus the vinegar is the trick! Be sure to spray the weeds in the morning so the vinegar (and sun) has enough hours in the day to "burn" the weeds.
If the weeds are mature and/or have large leaves, I tear off as many leaves as I can so the vinegar can better reach, or target, the weed. Whenever I go outside to do any trimming, deadheading, etc., I automatically carry my bottle with me ready to spray any weeds. Make sure you avoid spraying the lawn or any flowers.
Thank you. I will try this!
Here's what I use: Take a spray bottle and cover the bottom with salt and fill it up with vinegar. Add a few drops of dish soap and shake. Spray on the weeds.
