They take all this back to the nest and feed it to the family....and kaboom...they're gone. It does take about a week or two for you to notice no more ants. Also if you see they coming from a certain hole under the sink or around a door or window, be sure to put some clear caulk to stop it up.

Get some corn kernels put them in a blender/food processor grind them up and put the mix in little piles whear you see the ants
Honestly, call an exterminator. I've tried cinnamon, salt, flour, corn starch, to no avail.
