Please be very careful about leaving poison around your yard. Any animal like dogs and cats could eat it and be poisoned. I would use a live trap and relocate the chipminks to a wooded area--preferably in the country.
Get a cat.
Catch and relocate
Hi there. Cindy here. You could shred bars of Irish Spring bath soap. You can shred them on a box grater or even in a food processor. Spread it all over where you see chipmunks. Animals hate the smell and taste of the soap. It is the only thing that has worked to keep animals out of my garden. Replenish after it rains.
They won’t eat the poison. Most is made for mice and they don’t like it. I’ve tossed some down their holes and they toss them right back out! LOL This is by far the most effective. I’ve done it (36 one summer) and I just had a friend kill almost 40 the last 2 months. They are destructive little suckers even though they are cute. Get a 5 gallon bucket, fill 3/4 of the way up with water, toss a handful or two of sunflowers seeds on the water. Use a 2x4 or fat stick angled as a plank to climb to the top. They jump in to get seed and drown. Place bucket in area you are seeing them. Usually against the side of the house wall. Most rodents run along the perimeter. Dump bucket every 2-3 days and refresh seed and water. Nothing else will be as effective.
How do you get rid of moles and voles , we’ve tried everything
Voles are usually seeking seeds. If you or a neighbor are feeding birds, stop now. Try pushing a series of moth balls in their holes. Using a sharp tool, crush more and push into hole. Refill with dirt and pack down, or place bricks over holes. Try spraying yard with a garlic spray, using a garden sprayer.
