What can I do about these invisible bugs that are biting us???
I tried sprays, on dog and on the yard. I tried flea collars and oil tubes. THey're biting my family and my sweetie boo dog!! Help!!
These might be mealy bugs, and they're very invasive. Have them identified so you know what can be safe/used on them. The plants may even have to be re-potted in fresh potting soil after they're treated.
Take one of your succulents to your local garden center. Hopefuly there will be a professional expert there who can identify these bugs and show you what to buy to eradicate them.
Hello, if it is aphids, treat aphid infested succulents with a soap-and-water solution made from 2 cups water, 1 tsp. liquid dish washing soap and 1 tsp. vegetable oil. Pour the ingredients into a plastic spray bottle, shake gently, then lightly mist the affected foliage. Coat both sides of the leaves; the insects must come into contact with the solution for the treatment to be fully effective. Wait three to four hours, then wipe the leaves with a damp rag to remove the soapy residue or you can also scrunch up a paper towel and put over the soil and spray the leaves with clear water to rinse. The paper towel will catch the soapy water. Reapply every three days until the situation is resolved.
Thank you for taking the time to answer. I am very inexperienced with plants of any kind. I think I will take a plant to the garden centre to see if they really are aphids of some kind or another bug. Thank you for all the advice everyone.
A neem oil spray may also help control the bugs on your houseplants. Good luck!
If the are white they are most likely white flies. A little less destructive than aphids and twice as annoying. Put your plant in the tub and give it a gentle shower.
