Very small black bugs that are very quick to react and therefore hard to swat. No open food around.

They sound like gnats? I got a little bug light, had a purple bulb they were attracted to.

You have fungus gnats. Place a bowl of apple cider vinegar on your counter. Cover it with plastic wrap and then punch a hole in the middle. The flies enter and cannot get out. Another method which works really well, is yeast in warm water with a little sugar. Same method. Fungus gnats come out of the soil of plants when you water them..

Hello,l used to manage a bar and they came from the draft beer sink. The only thing I have found that really works is Hot Shot No Pest Strips. You can get them at Walmart and Lowes.

Hello there. I'm Cindy. Make a solution of a half-cup of Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 teaspoon of molasses, a quarter-cup of sugar, and one cup of water. Put this in a empty water bottle and place it near the gnats. This solution can be used inside or outside.

I hung fly paper on my kitchen light fixture and made sure there was no air movement ie fans were off. I also hung one in each bathroom. Worked like a charm. You will find that there are more than a few. They multiply and go to water sources. Pour some bleach in your drains.

These could also be coming from fruit that is over ripe sitting on your counter or tomatoes also sitting there. Ditto to all the above solutions.

the cider vinegar suggestion works - but no need for sugar, molasses, or plastic.

Just add a tiny drop of dish soap to the vinegar - this breaks the surface tension, so when they contact it, they get sucked under...
