Cats do not like aluminum foil! Lay aluminum foil down and it will deter them from jumping on your counters! They will then learn not to jump up there! It may take a little while of keeping the foil up there, but they will eventually learn!

Hi. If you keep a spray bottle filled with water, set it at the stream. You guessed it, when they get up there give them a little squirt. This doesn't hurt them but they won't like it enough to remember to stay down. Good Luck......Gigi

  • Just be patient and train them. I rescued 6 almost 2 years ago and a good sharp NO or GET DOWN works wonders. But it does take a bit of time. And they will investigate in the middle of the night as that is what cats do. You can do this, just be patient, kind, yet firm.

The foil will work. Use the heavy duty kind and keep it in place with some sticky-tack. That way, when you need to use the counter, you can just unstick it. Then, while you're working, keep that spray bottle close by.
