How to kill ants on peonies>

    I've heard you are not supposed to kill them. They eat something on the bud that allows the flower to bloom.

    You don't want to kill the ants! They eat the 'wax' off the peony buds so that they will open up.

    thank you, I'll stop fussing about it--just make sure all the ants are off before cutting for the house.

    leave the ants alone/they will not harm the peonies.

    Don't know about that but if you have a bug problem, I take a few DROPS of dish soap in a gallon of water. Careful not too much soap, mix gently and thoroughly, Pour into your spray bottle. When dusk comes (Sun going down) spray your plants well. The next morning when you hose the soap off we rarely find any remainders!
