How to kill weeds without killing plants?
Does anyone know of something to spray/apply to keep weeds from growing but not killing the plants? It seems my weeds grow faster than my flowers and plants! Probably not possible but worth a try! Tired of pulling... :)

Hi Tammy. I usually spray the weeds with vinegar...but it will kill the plants too, so you need to be very careful where you squirt it. However, the weeds will die and you won't have to pull!
When your garden is cleaned up, put down Preen Weed Preventer. It will really help keep the seed born weeds from germinating. It does not affect any seeds you will plant or if the plant reseeds itself each year. It does not affect tree seeds since they aren't a weed until they pop up in the garden. It also doesn't affect the root born weeds like some grasses or creeping charlie type weeds. Those are fairly easily controlled if you keep an eye on them. Pull or dig them up until you are at least six inches to a foot out of the garden. They will try to come back in, but you can then catch them when they first start entering the garden and are easy to pull up. I spend maybe five minutes a weed in my veggie garden taking care of those weeds and maybe five minutes a month taking care of the regular weeds that may sprout up. The Preen doesn't last forever, but it lasts long enough for my garden to last out the growing season here in the northern parts. In the spring I mainly have to deal with the root born weeds before I plant again and put down the Preen. I hope this helps you Tammy!
Great advice! Thanks a bunch!
