It's hard work but if you can dig down dig out all the fleshy roots that you can. Then using a small paintbrush you can paint weed killer like RoundUp on the leaves. They will absorb it and kill it to the root. May take all summer to get rid of it, but also watch for it around the garden as these things are really invasive and you may kill it in the garden but if it's nearby it will never go away
