The vinegar/salt combination kills all, it can't determine the difference between weeds and grass or plants. You can do things to protect your plants and grass like cover them so the mix does not touch them.
Another option is to use a household steam cleaner directed at the weed and a torch burns the weed where vinegar will travel and kill plants. I also have found SO many people say vinegar kills weeds. I have little success with it. I don't know why they say it is good. I don't agree. AGRICULTURAL vinegar maybe but household vinegar has never done a good job for me.

If the weed is in the grass and hard to reach, try trimming the grass to expose the weed, then spray the weed only, you could also use a small paint brush to carefully apply it to weeds in the grass.

Salt is an indiscriminate killer and will kill everything. It will also leave your soil barren for a while too.

Only spray it on the weeds it will kill the grass .
You have to be specific and spray just where the weeds roots are
If you don't get any of it on the grass.
