Well I get drain gnats and my bug guy said to pour bleach down my drains (in the kitchen).

Drain flies and fruit flies, which come inside from the outside, are different. Have you tried using dish soap with the vinegar? I have found apple cider vinegar in a shallow bowl with dish soap (lemon scented) added does a good job. It won't work however if there is still a more attractive food source. Make sure all your fruit and veggies (if you keep them on the counter like we do) are bagged or in a sealed container until you get rid of them. It could take several days to get rid of them all. Change the vinegar and/soap mixture every couple of days.

I wash all of my fruit and vegetables in a warm water, vinegar and baking soda mixture when I get them home to remove any fruit fly eggs (I know, yuch). If I see any fruit flies I always look for the source which is usually a piece of fruit that has been bruised and I take it outside to the garbage to dispose of it. Then I rewash and cover my fruit to seal it and they die out.
