I have a Red Maple with the roots showing, what should I do? Cover?

    That is normal ,you can put some garden soil or mulch on top.

    No, you will suffocate the tree. Some seem to surface. That is the tree. Just let them as they are.

    Maples have invasive roots, unfortunately. My neighbor has one, and the roots are surfacing in my yard. They're a tree that shouldn't be planted near structures, patios, septic systems, etc. I don't think adding soil will help because the roots just keep surfacing, and it may harm the tree, as Fred said.

    Thanks for the information. I was going to plant mine in a totappu wrong place. Now it will stay in pot and be a modified bonsai.
