You can sprinkle cayenne pepper around the bed. Once sniff/taste of that and the squirrels won't be sticking around.
Cayenne is good until the sprinkler or rain hits it.
Try applying blood meal and make sprays with hot pepper and garlic,or castor oil.
Red pepper flakes work for me
Get a Squirrel feeder... we found buried Hickory Nuts in our bags of Mulch we brought out of the barn and some were sprouting...
