Do you need xeriscaping ideas or do you have a plan?
Bermuda grass is very hard to remove. If you rototill the roots, all you are doing is cutting them into smaller pieces and each piece has the potential to grow. Bermuda grass roots also grow deeper into the soil than many rotillers can reach. It also spreads by it's seeds. The best is to kill it with something like Round-up. I know that's controversial, but you have to kill the deep roots. Do repeated applications for a year until you get it all killed. If you put down a weed cover, Bermuda grass will grow through it in about a year. I lived in Phoenix and it was a constant battle to keep it out of the gardens. If you don't get it all, you will have a constant battle after you put granite or other rock down.
