There is nothing home-made that will not affect the surrounding plants if you spray on them. There are specific chemicals that are in the commercial sprays that attack the weeds' DNA makeup and not plants.
I use 1Gal Vinegar, 1 cup table salt, 2 tsp of Dawn dish soap. It will kill anything that it’s sprayed on. Pet friendly. Best time to use us when sun is out, but end of day you will see results. If you have plants close to where your spraying, cover your good plant with something while you spray, uncovEr when done.
