Ideas for a pet friendly roach killer?

Hi everyone,

I've got a little roach problem at home! But here's the thing, I've got two cats who love chasing them. I'm trying to find a way to get rid of the roaches that won't hurt my pets.

Do you know any safe roach killers for homes with cats? Maybe something you've tried and can recommend? I'm hoping for ideas that won't make my cats sick.

Thanks a lot for your help. Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

There are plastic shell gel packs that can be attached to horizontal and vertical surfaces, the roaches enter and take the bait home to their nests. They do work. They are available at diy stores. Place away from where your dear kitties can't get to, such as inside cupboard doors.

You could also mix boric acid ( dollar store) + sugar 50%/50% in a thin layer and put it on parchment paper, be sure it is a thin layer, they are drawn by the sugar and killed by the boric acid, place this high up in cupboards or under appliances where they can't get to it.

  • You can try diatomaceous earth as it's all natural and pet safe.

Boric acid is a powerful natural home remedy for getting rid of roaches overnight. Mix equal amounts of boric acid, flour, and sugar until it becomes a dough-like consistency. Place small pieces where the roaches can feed on them. Keep this out of the way of pets. Put inder fridge etc. It will get rid of them overnight.

Diatomaceous earth is a great choice when it comes to killing cockroach eggs. We recommend trying this method when you are sure there is already an ongoing infestation in your house. It's made of marine phytoplankton, which is toxic to roaches and can dehydrate the ootheca. Make sure to buy the food-grade version.

Hi Dustin, hope this helps you.

Once you've thoroughly cleaned your apartment and cleared or sealed up any possible roach food sources like crumbs, trash, or easily accessible pet food, lightly dust it where you've seen roaches in your home to get rid of them.
