Welcome to this years mole problem. The only thing that you can do is apply castoral oil or blood meal all around and apply a grub control which is what the moles go after.

Mole Repellent Spray. A simple mixture of 1/2 cup of castor oil and 1/2 cup of liquid dish soap will keep moles at bay. Combine the two ingredients in a jar and keep this on hand. When you're ready to use the repellent, mix 3 tablespoons of it with a gallon of warm water. This is one found on web. Also this link: http://www.hgtv.com/design/outdoor-design/landscaping-and-hardscaping/how-to-get-rid-of-gophers-and-moles has more info about how to treat for grubs that entice moles to hang around . . . Do google so you understand the issues. I do have 2 dogs and they are not interested in this when I use it. Does it work? In your case with new lawn it should . Do test for insects though as that is what attracts the moles and will need to be addressed . The HGTV article explains the insects and how to treat those as well. Let us know how it turns out and good luck!

Believe it or not....Jalapeno peppers will do the trick of ridding your yard of moles We bought them from the local super market for 79 cents a pound. I cut the tops off and then dug a hole where the mole tunnel was. I put jalapeno peppers about every 6-12 inches and the mole don't return.

Unfortunately our lawn is too big for that. It's about 2 acres of mowed lawn. I'm afraid if I tried this on the spots where the moles already are tunneling, they'll just move on to different parts of the lawn. But thanks for the input!

I have a wind mill (decorative) that vibrates when turning and that has sent them away from the house

I've found that "worms" purchased at Menards do the trick. They strive on grubs and worms and these look like the real thing. You can catch them on sale (get about 8 for$12) regularly. Tramp down your runs you have now then watch for new ones. Poke a hole down until you hit the run, then drop one worm in it and lightly cover hole back up. Do this about every 8 feet. Should work for you. Otherwise, the good old fashion traps are the next best bet.

That's the first I've read that suggestion. We may be giving that a try. Thank you.

Nematodes take care of grubs which is mole food so if you get rid of their food source they will go elsewhere

    Milky spore...concentrated version.

The milky spore eliminates the grubs which is the food for moles
